Overview of Programs

In addition to our special programs, the Boys & Girls Club of Scott County offers programs that have been developed by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. It is our desire to help our young people succeed in life by giving them every opportunity to better themselves and their communities.

Summer Enrichment Programs

  • Tutoring: Certified teachers are on-site tutoring in all subjects.
  • Wanna Play: Team based sports program to enhance coordination and strength.
  • Smart Moves: Program to help teach ways to resist the use of drugs and alcohol.
  • Kidz Lit: Program to encourage reading and increase comprehension skills.
  • Money Matters: Promotes financial responsibility and independence.
  • Life Skills: Provides basic cooking, cleaning and laundry skills.
  • Net Smartz: Teaches Internet safety.
  • Triple Play: Promotes health and wellness through mind, body and spirit.
  • Healthy Habits: Incorporates healthy living through good nutrition.
  • Music Makers: Lets kids explore making music using a variety of instruments.
  • Project Learn: Reinforces the skills and knowledge learned at school.
  • Youth of the Year: Recognizing members ages 14-18 for service to Club, Community and Family; academic performance and moral character; life goals; and poise and public speaking ability. From the youths selected to be Youth of the Month, a Youth of the Year will be selected to participate in a series of competitions with the prizes between $1,000-$15,000 in scholarships.
  • Torch Club: Small group focusing on leadership, service, education and social recreation. Ages 11 to 13.
  • Keystone Club: Group focused on community, character and leadership, education and career exploration, unity and social recreation. Ages 14-18.
